Forum rules, please read.

Hi and welcome to UK Mantis Forums. As a member of UKMF you are able to make use of all the forum including the Bloggin' system where you can keep a diary of anything Mantis related, breeding, live foods, housing or whatever you feel like writing about, you can have up to 10 categories of your own to write about.
You can have your own Albums and keep up to 60 pics on the server to share with other users or keep them private, its up to you.

You will only be able to use the classified section after you have registered. Please be aware that UK Mantis Forums do not assume any responsibility for the completion of any transaction. Seller and Buyer BEWARE!! Use AT YOUR OWN RISK!!

There is also a "Breeders directory" where we can share our surplus males/females to help safe guard species in cultivation, you need to have at least 20 posts to take part. This is so we can have some idea of who we are dealing with.

At the moment you can only add pictures to the main forum via a free photo bucket account or similar. This frees up vital space on the server. If you don't know how to and need help then take a look in the help section.

After you join please take a moment to say hi and introduce yourself this breaks the ice and hopefully, you will feel at home.

We encourage all ages to participate in these forums so please be aware of this when posting.

In order to protect this forum from Spammers, we have hacks installed to help control this problem. You will be unable to post a URL until you have submitted 1 post.

Rules

1. Keep things friendly and respectful. We encourage debate and discussion, as long as it remains constructive.

2. Keep on topic. Try to post your threads in the appropriate forums.

3. Scientific names

In the first instance of a post or thread referring to a Mantis, the scientific name should be used (if known).
For example a post would start with the full name Heriodula membrancea and there after can be refereed to by its common name (giant Asian mantis) or simply H mem. We are presently constructing a list of Scientific and Common names for you to refer to if needed. This will be updated as when. If you don't know the correct name then just use the common name, we do realise that its a steep learning curve.

4. Please report any questionable activity to me or to one of the mods.

5. Signatures may contain a link to your homepage providing that it is not used for trading, this is deemed unfair to paid advertisers. Users are free to ad their sites here.
Or you may consider using paid advertising. Links in posts used to help others is allowed unless it is regarded as blatant advertising. Any spam will be deleted.

6. Mods may send you an infraction warning if you violate any rules or to inform you of your post being deleted, edited, or moved. Please DO NOT TAKE THIS PERSONALLY, that is the only time efficient way the mods can let you know about these things. If you think the mods have been unfair to you, please contact me directly.

7. Swearing and abusive behaviour will not be tolerated, please remember that this forum has members of all ages, some words will lead to an automatic member infraction.

8. Multiple user accounts are not allowed on the forum and will be deleted.

9. Please keep all chat regarding selling, buying, trading, swapping wanting and the like in the main classified sections.

11. Spamming the forum threads with pointless non helpful answers and using text shortcuts may result in your posts being deleted.

12. Members that use the forum for their owns means such as buying and selling via pm's and don't contribute towards the forum, ie not posting, may receive guest status. I do not see why donaters and myself should have to pay for the bandwidth they are using..
