    Default Mating Oreophotes peruana

    hey, does anyone know how long ill need to have a male and female Oreophotes peruana untill they start mating, and then how long it would take for them to lay eggs AND hatch?

    well, if a male is red it is ready to mate and will not moult anymore, and the female will be a bit bigger than the male and wont moult anymore either, they start laying eggs about 1 month into adulthood and eggs take 5 months to hatch, they NEED to be mated for the eggs to be fertile, unlike you carausius morosis

    thank you, im going to probably moce my carausius morosus into one of the little pots again soon, and buy a male peruvian.! so they can be alone haha.

    lol, its probably best, id say they can only live together short term, and the babies would get lost in such a big tank!

    When you do get the eggs if you can find them(They are flat unlike alot of other sticks and look like sesame seeds!)you must keep them moist at all times and not let them dry out and you should have a near on 100% hatch rate.At one stage i had over 300 eggs and all but 2 hatched
