Default 2 a day

hi everyone, just like your advice, my mantis is about i inch long there are some pics on the forum, im feeding him 2 crickets per day does that sound ok. and i have handled him for the first time i let him settle in for a few days, i was also a bit concerned about the bitting issuse, more about me acidendtly harming him if he did bite, but as it goes he quite happily crawled around my hands and snuggled in betwwen my nuckles, i have put him in and out of his cage a few times, he used to flare up with his arms but now he sees my hand and seems to know that its somthing interesting for him to do, i have never thought of bugs to have any sort of inteligence but my mantis seem to be very interested in what im are doing, hes not scared of me and he dosnt want to atack me, he just seems happy to be handled, somtimes i will look him straight in the eyes and he will walk straight over to me, these creatures so fasinating

If he is eating the crickets that is OK. Don't leave uneaten crickets in with the mantis. If he is eating 2 you could try a larger cricket.

I think you have a Sphodromantis sp (African), if it's eating the food then no problem, they will stop eating if full, however the more you feed it the quicker it will grow. Always remember to remove any uneaten food items.
