Great ideas. Paul show the fish tank please!!! When my flower mantid was tiny i had her in a tall glass jar with the foot cut out of a pair of tights over the top. I just moved her into a small faunarium i had upstairs.

I use the rigid cricket tubs turned on their side for larger nymphs and for small species such as Odontomantis planiceps. By turning the tub on end it creates an ideal shape and if you position the folding corner at the top you can easily feed crickets etc to your mantids. The slitted sides provide good ventilation humidity is maintained.
My tinys are in plastic cups and I have sweet jars for the large mantis.

Question On the subject of housing

I have an Female orchid mantis and i have heard that if you give it a coloured floer e.g Pink, green, yellow, white they may change that colour.

I wish to have a pinkier one mainly because that is more exotic
Mine is still at a young age i think probably coming up to it's third molt.

Does it matter if i give it a flower from a local shop? I ask this because it may have bad chemicals on and may harm my mantis.
