Default Terrible Mistake =(

I had a beautiful pair of giant asians (Hierodula Membranacea) I got from Cosmic which I kept in numbered jars so I could keep track of their progress. One had moulted to sub adult recently and one was about to and I must have switched their jars around whilst cleaning them out recently. I only feed them crickets once I know they're not due a shed for a while, checking which number jar to throw them in like a robot I put them in with my female which was about to moult.

Just a lonely Male now

I only had crickets because I was waiting so damn long for my gecko to arrive too

Just goes to show the damage crickets can do. This is why I only ever feed mine on flies.

This can be used as a warning to all other mantis owners.

Idolomantis diabolica
Hymenopus coronatus
Phyllocrania paradoxa
Pseudocreobotra wahlbergii
Sphodromantis lineola
Alalomantis coxalis
Polyspilota aeruginosa
Hierodula Membranacea

Thanks for your sympathy, it cheered me up ^^ I'm usually really careful with what I feed my mantis' but alas my expensive Turkistan Roach colony isn't seeming to yield progeny and my 3 adult females have been all over the adult roaches I have like white on rice.

In this case, yes, of course however the mantis they were intended for would have gobbled them up in a matter of minutes.

I still prefer feeding crickets as an emergency as opposed to nothing or bananas, I guess the lesson is if you're going to feed crix then to make sure they're nowhere near moulting time.
