I found my only male in a real bad state today.

Sorry to say Chinese are a strange speices.

Most say easy to keep, But also known to die as nymfs in hordes!
I had 2 ooths, The first 95% survived and the second 95% died within a week.

Cared and tendered in the same way...

Chinese arn't really beginner species due to their high mortality rates during the first few instars, they are only common because of the huge amount of wild collected ootheca available which flood the market at this time of year and can be bought for only a couple of quid. You will be very lucky to get any that are captive breed.

They are plenty of much easier to rear species available.
