Is that supposed to be a prehistoric mantis in sap?

Looks like one that has been set in acrylic or some other sort of plastic to me.

Idolomantis diabolica
Hymenopus coronatus
Phyllocrania paradoxa
Pseudocreobotra wahlbergii
Sphodromantis lineola
Alalomantis coxalis
Polyspilota aeruginosa
Hierodula Membranacea

Nearly all of the large insects that are in posed positions are faked from reconstituted amber filings. You have to remember that the insects get traped as the sap flows so usually they are crumpled and hard to define in real ones. I have a small fly that a friend brought back from Aus for me.

Its fruitfly sized and the amber piece is smaller than a pea, I think its genuine as if your going to fake it do something more valuable
