Default Mating problems

Ok so if got my male in enclosure and let him settle then i introduce the female and, well no sudden head eating so so far so good. Left them togther for a few days then removed the male to leave female in larger enclosure to lay ooth but after a week nothing. so i re introduced them and left over night male still alive today so all good but i have not seen him mate.

What am i doing wrong please help or send me a male that has proved his worth.

Oh species is Polyspilota aeruginosa.

Many thanks ;o)

Sounds ok. Are they old enough? Have you seen him on her? They could have done it whilst you were asleep. They don't stay together too long, just half an hour or so I think. Give him a rest and try again next week if you're unsure.

Providing your very carefull the oothe can be removed but its really up to you. But you must leave it now to harden properly so it stands less chance of being damaged if you do decide to remove it. Ive managed to peel them off fine from the same type and place as yours has been laid. If you leave it the nymphs they will probably get through the vents (possibly) so you would have to cover the top with net somehow, difficult when she has laid inside. Or you could pur the lid inside another larger enclosure until they have hatched.
I take it shee's mated now ?

right with a very sharp razor i managed to separate the ooth from the lid and it looks to be in tact. I only have one more question, does it matter what way the ooth is hung. What i mean is should it be hung as it was laid.

Mine took just over 2 months but this was at room temp low to mid 70's slightly higher temps may cause them to hatch in a shorter time and normally tapered side down. I dont think it makes a whole lot of difference as sometimes they are laid horizontal anyway. Try and hang it the way it was laid if you can remember..
