I guess it's not just trading ooths and breeders. I occasionally have a series of fertile ooths from a mantid but am not in a position to take on more by trade and am not in a position to be a breeder.
I would be happy to give an ooth from the series to a breeder to keep the species going. In fact that is now my future intention if my current matings are succesful.

Now I know what you were on about cosmic

All your flower mantis needs are here. Maybe it will be a good way of keeping creobroter species thoroughbred too, I have weeded mine down to pure strains from original WC stock so it would be good to keep it that way using a breeding group.

I'm glad you said that, the species which I got as C gemmatus always had very low hatches although I did keep them going for a couple of generations I fear they probabley were a mixed-bred, lucky I never sent any out due to the low numbers I aways had. But yes I've been thinking it would be a good way of keeping track of the Creobroter species, and trying to keep a log of the pure-bred stocks to try and keep accients from happening.

Let me know if you think you have anything thats fairly uncontaminated Cosmic as I am sure your largest (AKA gemmatus) are meleagris (near impossible to get at times) and I am only down to 4 small nymphs from a very weak hatching. Also I havnt sourced pictipennis yet so keep them going for now (I know I dont need to say that as you appear not to give up species )

Wild cought stuff isnt always offered (generally a good thing) but would be a good starting point otherwise. There are still thankfully some 'dead-give-aways' with creobroter but I can only do that for about 4 species Grahams got a nice new species with alternative wing markings but my ooths havnt hatched yet (he recons 3 month to hatch so the wait continues - glad I kept hold of them)

Just debating whether its worth forking out $30 so near to Christmas to get a C nebulosa ooth (believed to be one of the largest species) but I think it may be best to wait until Spring to sort this one and get a couple or more
