Earliest i've ever seen them?
Just recently they have been moving in to the suburbs for the breeding season.


Here you can see a small gathering in breeding condition. It appears to be all females on the bank.



Yep, definitely all females, you can tell by the flat head.



This is why they are all gathering, a male (you can tell by the knobbed head) calling & showing off in the pool.
